What has been your favorite role?
This is a hard pick so I apologize in advance but I picked 3:
Recently on Let Him Go, doubling the daughter, Kayli Carter, I got a very nice compliment from Kevin Costner on the job I had done. That was a highlight.
On Ghostbusters 2020:Afterlife, I don’t think I am giving anything away by saying this-but while I did have a few challenging days, I had several days on second unit riding around in the Ecto (Ghostbusters car) as a passenger while our talented stunt team member that drove it did an outstanding job of drifting it repeatedly, inches from the camera car’s Russian arm, amongst many other things. I was often giggling like my 6 year old niece. After all these years sometimes I still can’t believe that it’s my job.
The Detour-My husband is a stunt pilot, and while I had worked with him before on Hold the Dark, on the Detour we worked on the same scene. He was in the aerial unit and I was doing stunts-mostly driving. We had to drive towards each other, as if in a game of chicken, him in the plane, and me in a mail truck. That was an interesting day.
What do you do when you are not performing?
I like being outside-hiking, skiing, riding the horses. I am also a bit of a foodie and I like to cook.
What Director would you like to work with?
Hands down, Quentin Tarantino. He’s so wacky! Sometimes his movies work and sometimes they don’t, but he’s a trailblazer.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
Pulp Fiction spun my head around when it came out. But I also have a love of black and white movies and TCM is usually what’s playing at our house in the evenings. I also love Alfred Hitchcock. My father really introduced us to classic movies early and I remember going to school in grade 3 or so and telling my teacher that my favourite movie was Witness for the Prosecution with Charles Laughton and Marlene Dietrich. I think she found that unusual.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
One thing I wish I would have known sooner – Not to stress too much about what you have to do, as it will change on the day. In other words, yes, do the rehearsal and the visualization or whatever you need to do for the stunt, but be ready for it to look very different when you do it. So, you need to rely on your skills and background experience that brought you to this point and trust your instincts will kick in. Your coordinator had faith in you, so you should too. Ha! I need to take my own advice…….
