What has been your favorite role?
The Merry In Laws was the first movie where I had a large role so it was a fantastic learning opportunity spending more time on set – plus George Wendt (Cheers) was a real sweetheart. The series Damnation was an amazing experience too however most recently I loved working on The Haunting of Audrey Earnshaw where I had to learn an Irish accent and got to work with some lovely actors from the UK.
What do you do when you are not performing?
I enjoy singing, dancing, painting and drawing, spending time with my kids, assisting my father with daily challenges, walking my dog and hiking.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I’m a member of Revv52 a local pop choir. We have created multiple videos throughout the pandemic and I can’t wait to perform live with them. I also do improv with Loose Moose and Dirty Laundry which reminds me to follow my instincts, and it allows me to be a goofball.
What Director would you like to work with?
I would work with Adam Kane again in a heartbeat who directed Damnation in Calgary. He is the most positive guy ever on set! I also really appreciate the comedic skills of Judd Apatow and Paul Feig. I’d be curious to work with Lesli Linka Glatter who has directed so many of my favorite TV shows and while I’m not a huge superhero fan, working on Wonder woman with Patty Jenkins would have been a blast.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
So many! Some of my top picks are Peaky Blinders, The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Nurse Jackie, Ozark and Breaking Bad – but I also adore comedy like Veep, The Office, Bridesmaids, Anchorman and Crazy, Stupid Love. My favorite older movies are Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Rear Window.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
Everything you are insecure about makes you interesting on film if you embrace it. Being vulnerable and honest is hard but it makes you better. Also that it’s never too late to start. I started acting at age 42 after a career in broadcasting. Just take classes and do the work.
