What has been your favorite role?
Playing a reporter on the television series, Wynonna Earp has been my favorite role to date. I remember the cast and crew were so welcoming and accepting of the supporting cast members, they made me feel right at home.
What do you do when you are not performing?
When I am not performing, I work full-time at a post-secondary institution overseeing the development of specialized academic programs for African Canadian students. I am also a graduate student, working towards my doctorate degree in Education.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
My husband and I founded a youth development program, called At Your Best Development which offers academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities for youth to develop self-confidence and holistic skills.
What Director would you like to work with?
I would love to work with Gina Prince-Bythewood on a film or television project. She’s amazing and an extremely talented director. Something magical happens when Black women work together.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
My all-time favorite movie is Guiseppe Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso. I first saw the film in a film class during my sophomore year in university, and it was life changing. It was the first movie to demonstrate the power of film. I cried like a baby! Also, the music by Ennio Morricone is exceptional.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
As a performer, I wish I knew how to be more confident in my own skin. As an actor you bring your own uniqueness to the roles you perform, and you have to embrace with the idiosyncrasies that make you, you! That’s what makes acting fun!
