What has been your favorite role?
I recently finished filming a beautiful film called Ride Share, written and directed by Taya Walter where I played the lead role – Amethyst. This character holds a special place in my heart due to the nature of the film’s powerful message. This film explores the importance of not taking time or life for granted. I am very excited for this film to come out and cannot wait to share the final product. Everyone was very passionate about this project, and I feel very blessed to be a part of it!
What do you do when you are not performing?
When I am not on set, I spend my free time with my beautiful friends and family and constantly learning to better myself in my academics and my acting. I always try to strive to be the best I can, so the learning never stops! I have a degree in Psychology and minor in Drama and now am finishing my postgrad degree in Education. I have taken classes with Joe Norman Shaw over the past 5 years at Company of Rogues. I now work alongside Joe at St. Mary’s University, where we teach the drama program and are directing a play together. I love getting to learn and stay active in the arts in any way I can.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I am finishing up my Education degree alongside growing my acting career, and I am very passionate about helping children! I have always known I wanted to pour into the next generation and invest in the lives of children. If I can make a difference in the life of at least one child, I will be very happy.
What Director would you like to work with?
I love getting to meet any new directors on set, where I can learn alongside them and grow as an actor. However, I would love to get to work with Christopher Nolan one day! Interstellar has to be another one of my favourite movies.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
I am a sucker for all rom coms, but I would have to say my favorite movie is About Time directed by Richard Curtis. The main message of this film is to live every day like you intentionally chose to go back in time. It focuses on finding the beauty in life and appreciating the little things that make each day so special. Films that carry a beautiful message have to be high up on my list.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I wish I learned to appreciate the little wins more in this industry! Any audition, any callback, any short list, is a win! This Industry has lots of rejection at times and it’s okay to let go and realize if you worked hard and gave it your all, the rest is out of your control. Getting yourself out there is a win in itself!
