Puppeteer Committee

Mission Statement:

To represent, support and grow the Alberta Puppetry Community.

The 2025 Puppeteer Community has flourished in Alberta due to amazing productions such as Fraggle Rock and Joe Picket and is a testament to the world class talent in Alberta!

This talent pool includes many puppeteering styles:

  • Hand Puppets
  • Animatronics
  • Marionettes
  • Remote Control
  • Motion & Face Capture
  • Digital Puppetry

The ACTRA Alberta Puppeteering Committee is looking to build on the following:

  • Promoting Alberta Puppeteers nationally as well as having outside productions use our local talent.
  • Plan training that could grow performers futures and sustainability.
  • Organize workshops and events to help develop community and talent.
  • Explore and promote the benefits of being union puppeteers, especially in regard to residuals, buyout, AI and digital.
