What has been your favorite role?
I starred in the short film “Weeds in the Garden” directed by Barb Briggs and it was my first role when returning to acting after having kids. Not only was it a lovely film about grief and loss, but it was just an incredible team of local artists committed to this project, and Barb and I have become dear friends and collaborators since then. The final shot has this gorgeous filtered light and honestly is one of the most beautiful images. So proud to have been a part of it, it re-set my life’s trajectory.

What do you do when you are not performing?
I’m a social practice artist, writer and dancer and I also work at Calgary Arts Development as a Public Art Project Lead.  I always have a variety of projects on the go and love being a part of Calgary’s dynamic arts industry!

What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I dance Argentine Tango and I would love more people especially more young and diverse folks to get involved!  It’s such a beautiful dance and actors have a unique ability to be able to express through their bodies that would lend itself to tango so well!  Come out and play – I’d love to dance with you.

What Director would you like to work with?
So many!  I really enjoyed getting to work with Pippa Bianco this year and I’d love to have some more time with her.  Greta Gerwig and Lilly Wachowski would be the dreams!

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
Depends on the day!  I tend to follow actors I like, so I binge watch everything they’ve done non-stop until I’m done. But I do think “Poor Things” was an incredible film.  And I always go back to “Withnail and I” when I need a laugh.

As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
We have to do this because we love it.  Its easy to get caught up in the machine of the industry and forget about the artistry of what we do, but it needs to be the artistry that leads us.  It makes us better at what we do and is also so much less stressful and exhausting! We are artists first. Believe that.
