Hi ACTRA Alberta! I’m Kelsey Andries and I am an actor and stunt performer that wants to represent you on the ACTRA Council as a Member-At-Large.
Why put your support behind me? I’ve been working in the film and television industry in both Alberta and BC for almost 10 years. I have split this time between acting and stunt performing, so I have a strong insight to the issues that both performer groups may have. I also have over 20 years experience as an entrepreneur, running a successful fitness business, and I am a retired professional fighter. This mix of industry experience, business sense and fighting spirit will be useful to ACTRA Alberta and its members.
I want to see our industry in Alberta continue to grow, so we all have the opportunity to work in our home province and with our fellow members. In order to do so, we will need to stay strong as a union and advocate for ourselves. Transparency is key to uniting all our members towards this goal. I will work diligently to make sure that all members’ voices are heard and advocated for.
My name is Alleya Bourne and I am a stunt performer and actor living in Edmonton. I have been working in the film industry for the past 3 years. Over this time, I have cultivated connections with many other performers in Alberta and have developed an appreciation for the ACTRA union and their dedication to protecting performer rights. I am running for the position of Member At Large because I would like to be more involved in the union, and offer my help on issues affecting performers. In the past, I took on several positions of leadership within different clubs and committees, which has equipped me with strong organization and communication skills that I believe will be an asset in this role. I am active in the film industry in both Edmonton and Calgary and strive to regularly attend networking and community events. Thank you for this opportunity
Being very actively involved with ACTRA members in Edmonton, I feel I can contribute greatly in supporting the members in their quest for professional development as well as in strengthening their professional relations within the community not only in Edmonton, but across Northern Alberta and Alberta.
My qualifications that will enable me to do so are:
35 years of professional experience in all phases of filmmaking, including direction for film, cinematography and camera operation, as well as scriptwriting and dialogue coaching.
50 years of acting experience, starting out as a child actor, including over 20 years as a member of ACTRA and a Gemini nomination.
Hello fellow ACTRA members,
My name is Kevin Logan, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Member-at-Large position. With over 7 plus years of experience in the entertainment industry as both an actor and an assistant director, I’m passionate about advancing the interests of our vibrant community.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working on diverse projects across Canada. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges we face, from fair compensation to ensuring safe and inclusive work environments for all artists.
If elected, I will prioritize enhancing the benefits and protections for all members, advocating for stronger mental health support, and working towards greater industry opportunities for underrepresented groups. I am committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that members’ voices are heard and valued in every decision-making process.
I believe that, together, we can build a more dynamic and equitable future. It would be an honor to serve and represent your interests on the ACTRA board. Thank you for considering my candidacy. I look forward to the opportunity to make a meaningful impact alongside all of you.
Warm regards,
Kevin Logan
As a proud ACTRA Alberta member, I am committed to strengthening our union by ensuring every voice is heard. I am particularly passionate about advocating for minors in our industry, fostering a supportive environment where women uplift each other, and working towards a stronger, more united ACTRA. If elected as Member at Large, I will prioritize open communication, ensuring members feel represented and valued. Together, we can build a union that listens, protects, and empowers all performers. I would be honored to have your support!
I’m Christina Riches, a proud ACTRA Alberta member since 2000. I’ve worked as a stand-in on many productions for run-of-show, and as a daily actor and voice performer. I’ve always been grateful for the work our council and staff do to strengthen our industry locally and on the world stage. And now, I’m standing to be a member-at-large for ACTRA Alberta Branch Council.
It would be my privilege to support the branch and to advocate for all ACTRA Alberta performers in an official capacity with your vote. Topics of interest I’d love to collaborate on include:
breaking barriers to casting local,
making it easier and more compelling for local agencies and production companies to get on board with casting union talent,
and bridging the gap in set knowledge that performers are expected to “just know”.
Over the last decade, I’ve worked in the post-secondary and non-profit sectors on award-winning brand and reputation campaigns, and recruitment marketing materials. I’m happy to lend my professional expertise in marketing and design, where I focus on structuring and presenting information in ways that are engaging and easy to understand.
