What has been your favourite role?
This is a tough question to answer because each role I’ve played has had its own challenges, life lessons and hilarious moments. My most exciting role was having the opportunity to do stunts on Wynona Earp, it was also my most physically challenging role. Most recently I got to play a medic which involved some pretty badass vehicles plus a lot of intense training which gave me a look at the real challenges our first responders deal with on a daily basis.
What do you do when you are not performing?
I am currently enrolled in University to strengthen my skills in creative writing, business and French. If I’m not working on schoolwork, I can be found reading, binge watching Netflix or working out. I also work as a producer and am currently developing a couple of scripts with my team. Now that I have joined the ACTRA Council, the rest of my spare time will be spent on the initiatives I’ve presented to help inspire growth in our northern region.
What Director would you like to work with?
I would love to work with Alberta’s own Dylan Pearce again. He cast me in my first lead role a million years ago and I loved the way he ran his set. He has a very patient and open demeanour which makes the whole process feel collaborative, fun and welcoming.
What is your favourite movie and/or TV show?
I’m a sci-fi nut so you can safely imagine that my favourites are Star Wars (the original 3), The Fifth Element, and any super cheesy low budget sci-fi. My next favourite genres are romantic comedies or action films! If I’m working around the house, my go-to shows for playing in the background are Family Guy, Archer and American Dad.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I think I would have liked to have had a better understanding of how subjective the casting process really is. This would have saved me a lot of time wasted on nerves and insecurities. It also would have helped me better target roles that I’m suited for, not just the ones that my fragile ego assumes I’m suited for.
