What has been your favorite role?
My favorite role so far would have to be playing Mildred Ware in the stage production of John Ware Reimagined. Written by Calgarian playwright, Cheryl Foggo. It was the first time I had ever been a part of a story about Black history in Canada. It is an experience I will always carry with me.
What do you do when you are not performing?
When I’m not performing I typically read or find an outdoor activity to keep me active. I also love spending time with my family.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I recently started volunteering with La Connexional in Edmonton. This organization supports and promotes Black and Latinx artists and entrepreneurs by creating opportunities for them to showcase their art/brand, network, and have fun! I’m also passionate about the The Africa Centre (Edmonton) which supports Black communities in the city through mental health support, mentorship, and career boosting opportunities.
What Director would you like to work with?
Ava DuVernay, Ryan Coogler, and Barry Jenkins.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
Movie: Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. TV Show: Insecure. Issa Rae is such an inspiration to me.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
There is room for everyone, every story deserves to be told. Also, go for it, everyone has to start somewhere!
