What has been your favorite role?
For television, I enjoyed playing a mom in an Alberta Blue Cross commercial. I was cast alongside my daughter, so it was very memorable for both of us. The director, Blake McWilliam, was wonderful to work with. For theatre, I had such a great time playing Princess Aurora in a Toronto production of the musical, Sleeping Beauty.
What do you do when you are not performing?
Currently, I’m in the middle of directing and producing a couple of documentaries. I also teach in an elementary school.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
One of the documentaries I am working on at the moment has been in the works for several years, and it revolves around the arts and the healing power of the arts in the local community.
What Director would you like to work with?
I would choose to work with Ron Howard. As an actor and a director, Ron Howard is able to communicate his vision on both sides of the camera and capture powerful and compelling choices that translate beautifully on screen. I would also really love to work with Moira Walley Beckett. She creates such fascinating characters.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
The 2017 Wonder Woman film was engaging and entertaining, and I’ve been a huge fan of Wonder Woman since I was a child.
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I discovered acting by taking a drama class in grade 9. I wish I had known about acting and directing earlier because it has been such an incredible creative and therapeutic outlet. As an educator, I try to incorporate drama into my lessons whenever possible.
