What has been your favorite role?
At this point in my career, I am just starting to branch away from background roles into more principal roles. I have been in 15 different shows as a background performer. My favorite background role so far was in Billy the Kid (Season 2), I had the role of townsfolk. I had many days on set, my favorite day was an interior scene that I got extra dressed up for, and the hairdresser spent an hour and a half doing my hair. I was also fortunate enough to get plenty of camera time.
I can’t wait to see it!
What do you do when you are not performing?
I’m a corporate legal assistant full time. I hope one day to be able to act full time. I also take regular acting classes as well as workshops to sharpen my skills.
What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
I love volunteering and my favorite is with CIFF each year. I had the pleasure of working the industry panels last year and I’m so excited do it again this year. It’s a great networking opportunity.
What Director would you like to work with?
I would love to work with the Coen brothers (Joel & Ethan), Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, and Greta Gerwig. Honestly there’s way too many to choose from. I’ve also worked with a few independent directors, they are all absolutely wonderful to work with, so I don’t count out directors that I don’t recognize the names of.
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
I don’t really have one specific movie or TV show that is my favorite. I really like all kinds of different genres. My guilty pleasure is reality TV. I even auditioned for big Brother Canada six times!
As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I wish I had not waited until I was 36 to take it seriously and had put myself out there sooner. I just keep reminding myself that Morgan Freeman didn’t get his first major role until he was in his fifties.
