David is a respected coach and teacher of dialects and accents through his company, Dial/Act Inc. having taught at almost every college and university in Alberta.

He has been the dialect coach on many made in Alberta film and TV productions including FARGO, TIN STAR, THE THICKET, PREY, DRIVE BACK HOME (Alan Cumming) BILLY THE KID (Tom Blyth, Daniel Webber) most recently THE ABANDONS and A LONG WINTER (Martin Freeman and Caitriona Balfe)
He has also had the honour of coaching such luminaries as Eva Marie Saint, Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Ward, Cynthia Nixon, Brenda Fricker, Liam Hemsworth, Aidan Quinn, Kerri Russel, Nick Offerman, Joely Richardson, Greta Scacchi, Michael Stuhlbarg, Carrie Coon, Allan Cumming and Jacqueline Bisset among many others.

As an actor, David has appeared on stage,  film, TV and as a voice artist for 50 years – the recipient of Alberta ACTRA awards for best performance in 2024 and supporting performance in 2025, AMPIA Rosie awards for narration in 2007 & 2025 and for best performance in 1993, a Betty Mitchell theatre award for supporting actor in 2009 as well as the 2000 Harry & Martha Cohen Award for significant and sustained contribution to theatre in Calgary.
