What has been your favourite role?

My favourite role so far has to be Metis leader Gabriel Dumont in the APTN series Secret History of the Wild West. Being Metis myself, it was a dream come true to portray an important historical figure and my personal role model Gabriel Dumont. It was working with the ultimate Trickster Julian Black Antelope, Director Berkley Brady, and D. Adam Jamieson. But killing zombies on Black Summer was fun too.

What do you do when you are not performing?

I am a Props Builder specializing in period Indigenous weapons, artifacts and wardrobes. I had an amazing time last summer working on the film SKULLS, where I made a great number of 1700’s era Indigenous and French trapper weapons and artifacts. Plus, hanging out with The Predator was excellent too.

What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?

I am a member of the Guns of the Golden West, so ya, I’m an old west Gun Fighter, and I rob the occasional train now and then; there I said it!

What Director would you like to work with?

I would love to have the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood; let’s say we have a lot in common. On the other spectrum, I think Quinton Tarantino could bring certain darkness out of me for a character.

What is your favourite movie and TV show?

My favourite movie is Planes Trains and Automobiles; I watch it yearly. Now for TV, that’s a tuff one, let me think …… Okay, I will have to go with a top 10 list. #1 Breaking Bad, #2 Dexter, #3 Sopranos,
#4 Seinfeld, #5 Deadwood, #6 House, #7 Bob’s Burgers, #8 Better call Saul, #9 Suns of Anarchy, #10 Mad Men.

As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?

Stop thinking about it and DO IT! Life is too short to Wish and Hope. If the opportunities aren’t there, then make them your damn self. No one is going to hold your hand, so if you truly want it, you have to do everything in your power to achieve it!

June is a month Canada recognizes National Indigenous Peoples and celebrates June 21st and the summer solstice. Is there anything you would like to share that you will acknowledge or celebrate with your family, community or self?

I went down to the river with my Daughter Jessica to watch the sunset and give thanks to the Creator for a wonderful life.

Is there an oral tradition, elder or anything you would like to share about what keeps you grounded in your culture while working in movies today?

I find solace in creating Indigenous things from the past; it helps ground me in the future.
