What has been your favorite role?
This is a hard question! My first credited role was on Brokeback Mountain. How can you beat an Oscar winning film! But I also really enjoyed Hell on Wheels, Fargo, and Jann – I had a great time on all of them!

What do you do when you are not performing?
I am also a musician. My band, The Raynmen plays local Calgary venues. I am a horseman as well. I own a number of Standardbred racehorses that we race in Calgary, Edmonton, and Lacombe. I love classic cars and I like to tinker with the ones I own.

What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
Perhaps the best answer to that is ASHA (American Saddlebred Horse Association of Canada), our Alberta horse racing community. During the pandemic I wrote and recorded a song for those who care for Standardbreds in Alberta. I also made a video of the song which has won awards in a number of film festivals and was featured on the Standardbred Canada website. I also helped produce “What’s Up Wednesdays” – a web series that provided racing/horse/driver/trainer vignettes to familiarize people with Alberta racing.

What Director would you like to work with?

Well, I have already worked with Ang Lee – what an amazing guy! In the future maybe Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino.

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
For the last several years I have really enjoyed The Blacklist – I get such a kick out of James Spader! Don’t judge me, but I think my all-time favorite movie is Caddyshack, ha!

As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
I wish I would have started acting sooner. But things happen for a reason I suppose. My work as a musician and educator did prepare me in some ways though. I think experiencing as much as you can in life is something we should always embrace!
