IMDb Profile

What has been your favorite role?
Rachael McAlister the mama bear in Forbidden Playground. I had wonderful co stars to work with and a super generous director in Kevin Matlo.Lots of physical work, emotional range, experimentation, and a loving movie family to this day.

What do you do when you are not performing?
I’ve recently retired from teaching fitness for 13 years as a Zumba and Barre instructor. Currently, I am writing, painting, and most importantly, I am a mom to a teenager and a furry family.

What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
The Jane Goodall Institute is close to my heart. I met Jane a few years ago and she not only lived up to my childhood hero status, but was the genuine warm being you see in interviews. She gives me faith.

What Director would you like to work with?
There’s a long list but I would love to work with Simon Pegg! A set with Mr. Pegg at the helm would be a blast to work on.  He has a wicked sense of humour, is a creative genius, and loves actors.

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
It’s not heralded as a cinematic masterpiece but the movie Born Free changed my life. The true story of Joy Adamson and Elsa the lioness is one of the first examples of animal sentience. I became a huge Afrophile and animal rights supporter because of it. I think it’s time for a remake with me as Joy of course!

As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
It’s ok to have other interests outside of acting. There was a lot of pressure to have both feet in, eat, sleep, breathe acting. One needs to feed one’s soul and one’s family. Paint, sell cars, write, be a cashier. It all adds glittering and gritty facets to “you” for you to use in your craft.
