What has been your favorite role?
My most recent one this past spring, where I played Diane Ackers in The Little Girl Who Wasn’t. It was my favorite because, between post-surgical complications after foot surgery & then the strikes, I hadn’t been on set for almost a year and a half & TLGWW was my first time back!

Polyscope Productions Ltd. was such a wonderful production company to work with, and familiar crew members were so lovely coming up to me saying how nice it was to see me again. After being out for so long, I really felt welcomed back! As well, I had terrific scene partners who were a joy to work with. Being on that set reminded me, not only how much I feel at home on set and love doing what I do, but also how grateful I am to physically be able to do it!

What do you do when you are not performing?
I spend a lot of time with my family & grand doggies, friends, camping, outdoor activities, going to movies, attending industry events & fulfilling my wanderlust by traveling this big ole world! I am also consistently training with weekly classes, and I jump at every training opportunity ACTRA gives us with workshops! Thank you again ACTRA!!

What organization / activity are you involved with or passionate about that people would find interesting?
The AB SPCA, World Animal Protection, Covenant House & World Vision are organizations I’ve supported for decades, and more recently Unstoppable Foundation. I was born in South Africa & have been back a couple of times to visit family, but one day I’d love to go to other parts of Africa, like Kenya, to volunteer with World Vision or Unstoppable Foundation.

What Director would you like to work with?
I LOVE doing comedy, so some named directors I’d love to work with are comedic ones like Greta Gerwig, Sammi Cohen, Adam McKay, and Paul Feig. Having said that, there are so many talented directors out there, including our local independent film directors that truly, it would be a joy to work with any of them, big names or not, on any genre!

What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
This is a tough one! I have so many favorites across ALL genres, but Bridesmaids is right up there, I am a huge fan of the Marvel Universe, my favorite Christmas movie is Love Actually, and my new favorite TV Show is Elsbeth which is a little crime, a little drama & a little comedy. I’m super stoked it’s been renewed for a second season!

As a Performer, what is one thing you wish you would have known sooner?
To embrace the journey! Earlier on in my career, I was attached to the outcome when auditioning and would be so disappointed if I didn’t book, which in reality as actors is the majority of the time! Now, I have a much greater understanding of the casting process and all of the other reasons, outside of our performance, that we don’t book. My goal is to do a strong audition, and of course I still want to book the role… but I’ve eased into a place where I am no longer attached to the outcome, and instead am embracing my journey and enjoying all of the other aspects that come with being in this industry.
